How to Send & Receive Fax from Google Voice?
Google Voice has no built-in fax feature. Use Fax.Plus separately to keep calls and texts, or port an eligible number to Fax.Plus for faxing only, without calls or SMS.

How to port a Google Voice number to Fax.Plus
Before unlocking your number, ask Fax.Plus to check whether it is portable. Porting is available on Premium, Business and Enterprise plans. Wait for confirmation of eligibility and the required documents before proceeding.
1. Unlock your personal Google Voice number
For a personal Google Voice account, unlock the number before requesting a transfer. If your number belongs to Google Workspace, contact your administrator for the organization's transfer process. Do not apply the personal-account instructions to a managed Workspace number.
Open Google's official number-transfer instructions on your computer.
Sign in to the Google account that manages the number you want to transfer.
Follow the personal-account instructions to unlock your number.
Google charges US$3 to unlock a personal Voice number, unless that number was originally ported into Google Voice.
Keep your number active. Do not delete it from Google Voice while the transfer is in progress.
2. Request the transfer to Fax.Plus
Submit the Porting Request Form with your number. Fax.Plus will confirm portability and request the necessary documents and a Premium, Business or Enterprise subscription. Once the requirements are complete, the porting team will initiate the transfer and keep you informed of its progress.

Wait for Fax.Plus to confirm that the transfer is complete before using the number for faxing. The number then becomes a Fax.Plus fax number. Voice calls and SMS on that number will no longer be available through Google Voice.
How to send a fax after porting your number
Once the transfer is complete, send your fax from Fax.Plus. The document is sent through your fax account, not through the Google Voice app.

Sign in to your Fax.Plus account after the porting team confirms completion. Open the Send Fax section to prepare your document.
Prepare your document
Enter the recipient's complete fax number, including country and area codes. Attach your files, check the page order and review the destination before sending.
Check the sending result
Send the fax, then check its status in Fax.Plus. A successful transmission confirms receipt by the receiving fax system, not that a person has read the document.

Can you fax with Google Voice?
No. Google Voice does not support native faxing. To send a document, use a separate online fax service such as Fax.Plus. If you want to use your existing Google Voice number as a fax number, first confirm that it can be transferred. Fax.Plus handles faxing after the transfer; Google Voice does not gain a fax feature.
Can Google Voice receive fax?
Google Voice does not provide supported fax reception. To receive faxes, use a number hosted by a fax service. You can transfer an eligible Google Voice number to Fax.Plus, where it becomes fax-only, or keep Google Voice for calls and obtain a separate fax number. Receiving requires a paid Fax.Plus plan.
