  • Share fax contacts and contact groups with your team from Claude or ChatGPT.
  • For corporate Fax.Plus accounts; sharing asks for your approval.
  • Check which contacts and which team members are named before you confirm.
  • Works with Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants that support remote MCP with OAuth sign-in.

On a corporate Fax.Plus account, share your fax contacts and contact groups with your team from Claude or ChatGPT with the Fax.Plus MCP connector, so everyone works from the same list.

Before you start

  • Use a corporate Fax.Plus account on a paid plan and an existing authorized Fax.Plus MCP connection. Sharing is for members of your corporate account.
  • Use a compatible client with remote MCP support. These steps use Claude web; interface labels may differ in ChatGPT and other clients.
  • MCP is unavailable for accounts with Advanced Security Controls, including HIPAA and PHIPA configurations.
  • Have the contacts or groups ready first. See managing fax contacts and contact groups.

For connection help, see the Fax.Plus MCP setup hub and the client connection guide.

How to share contacts with your team

  1. Open a new chat. Use your connected assistant with Fax.Plus available.
  2. Name what to share. Give the contacts or the contact group, and the team member.
  3. Share contacts. The assistant shows what will be shared and with whom, and asks for your OK (share-contacts: share contacts with corporate members).
  4. Share a group. The same for a whole group (share-contact-groups: share contact groups with corporate members).
  5. Check the result. Ask the assistant to confirm what was shared.

Before you confirm

Sharing gives other members of your account access to your contacts. Check which contacts or groups the assistant names and which team member it will share them with, and keep the Fax.Plus sharing tools on Needs approval so nothing is shared without your OK.

Understand the result

After you confirm, the assistant reports what it shared and with whom. If the assistant says the action is not available, your account may not be a corporate account, or your role may not allow sharing; check your plan with your plan and account check.

If a tool is unavailable or reports a failure, the action did not run; check the connection and the account before trying again.

Keep contact details out of shared screenshots and summaries.

FAQs

Who can I share fax contacts with?

With members of your corporate Fax.Plus account. Sharing contacts and contact groups is a feature for corporate accounts.

Will the assistant share contacts without asking me?

Sharing is a write action, so your client asks for approval first. Keep the Fax.Plus sharing tools set to Needs approval and check which contacts and which team members are named before you confirm.

Why do I see no Fax.Plus tools after signing in?

The authorization may not have finished. Return to your assistant, complete the Fax.Plus sign-in and refresh the connection. In Claude, reopen the connector under Settings → Connectors. In ChatGPT, select Refresh. Tools set to Blocked in the permissions also cannot be used. If the problem continues, contact Alohi Support with the client name and the error. Do not include passwords or tokens.

Why does Claude not use Fax.Plus in my conversation?

Connecting the connector and using it in a chat are separate steps. Open the conversation, select + → Connectors and make sure FaxPlus is enabled. Also check the connector's tool permissions: tools set to Blocked cannot run, and tools set to Needs approval wait for your confirmation. If FaxPlus is missing from the list, go back to Settings → Connectors and confirm that it shows as connected.

Why does ChatGPT not use Fax.Plus in my conversation?

Select FaxPlus from the available apps or tools in the chat, or type @ and choose it. If it is not listed, open the app, sign in again and select Refresh. Available options depend on your ChatGPT plan and workspace settings.

Can I connect a HIPAA or PHIPA Fax.Plus account?

No. Fax.Plus MCP is unavailable for accounts with Advanced Security Controls enabled, including HIPAA and PHIPA configurations. Keep the security controls required by your organization in place and contact Alohi to discuss a suitable integration.

Do I need Fax.Plus Enterprise to use MCP?

No. OAuth connections are available on paid Fax.Plus plans starting with Basic. Enterprise is required for Personal Access Tokens. Your AI assistant has its own access requirements. See plan availability.
