A scanner creates a digital file; Fax.Plus sends it to a fax number. If your scan is already saved, use these steps instead of scanning it again.
A new Fax.Plus Free account includes a one-time allowance of 10 sending pages after mobile-number verification. It does not include receiving. Destination rates and transmission duration affect page usage, and some destinations require a paid plan. Extra sending credit has a $10 minimum top-up and does not expire; paid plans are also available.
No. The Fax.Plus mobile app includes camera scanning, so you can scan and fax without a separate scanner or Scan.Plus. If you prefer to start in Scan.Plus, install both apps on the same device and use an account for each. Fax sending uses your Fax.Plus plan or credit, not your Scan.Plus subscription.
No. You can send a scanned document without owning a fax number or landline. You do need the recipient’s full fax number, including the country code. Receiving faxes is a separate feature that requires a paid Fax.Plus plan with a fax number.
Yes. Include every required page, check their order, and attach the scans to the same fax. Fax.Plus accepts up to 10 files per fax; a file can contain multiple pages. File count is different from page count. Your plan’s per-fax page limit and available sending allowance still apply.
Check the recipient’s number and follow your organization’s approved sharing process for work documents. Fax.Plus encrypts stored files at rest using 256-bit AES, with unique keys for each user. HIPAA-compliant use requires the Enterprise plan, a signed Business Associate Agreement and activated Advanced Security Controls.
Faxes sent to numbers outside Fax.Plus are transmitted in black and white, so pale text, colored backgrounds and detailed images may lose clarity. Check that important information has strong contrast and that no content is cropped. If text is blurry in the scan itself, retake or rescan the page before sending.
It confirms that the receiving fax machine or service acknowledged the transmission. It does not show that a person read your pages or accepted the document for its intended purpose. Keep the confirmation report and contact the recipient if you need confirmation that the paperwork was processed.
Uploading a scan and transmitting a fax are separate steps. Check the final failure status, the recipient’s number and your available sending allowance. A busy or unavailable receiving line can prevent delivery even when the file is valid. If the scan is unreadable, correct it before sending again.
