Is fax still accepted at Carelon?

Carelon's own contact page confirms a fax of 844-521-6940 for prior authorization, prescription exceptions, and utilization management. CarelonRx, the pharmacy-specific brand under parent company Elevance Health, uses this same route, they are the same organization for purposes of this page. Carelon's provider page states electronic prior authorization through Surescripts, CoverMyMeds, or CenterX (EPIC) is the preferred method, but does not say fax has been discontinued, only that providers should call if they can't use ePA or phone.

2. Use the fax number above when ePA isn't practical, it remains an accepted channel.
3. Treat CarelonRx and Carelon as the same organization, don't search for a separate CarelonRx-specific number.
