Eligible Nevada military and overseas voters may return their completed ballot by fax to their county clerk or registrar of voters. Include the signed Oath of Voter and the required electronic-return declaration supplied with your ballot materials.
Official guidance checked October 20, 2026.
For the November 3, 2026, general election, electronically returned ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on November 3. Confirm the applicable election time zone with your county and follow its current packet. See the official Nevada military and overseas voter guidance.
This guide covers eligible Nevada military and overseas voters. It does not give every Nevada absentee voter permission to fax a ballot.
Covered voters include qualifying uniformed-service members, their spouses or dependents, and eligible U.S. citizens living overseas with a qualifying Nevada voting residence. Confirm your category and registration with your county clerk or registrar.
Nevada's current voter guidance allows these voters to return their balloting materials by mail, fax or email. If you choose email, use the completed-ballot return address and attachment instructions provided by the county.
For another state, use our guide to faxing an absentee ballot from abroad.
Nevada's Effective Absentee System for Elections, or EASE, helps eligible voters register, obtain their ballot and prepare it for return. The system can apply the signature already on file and generate a cover sheet containing required declarations and voter information.
The Secretary of State explains that a ballot marked through EASE can be provided as a PDF to return as an email attachment. Follow the system's final return instructions. Completing ballot selections alone is not proof that your county received your vote.
EASE also serves some voters with disabilities and certain tribal voters. Access to EASE should not be used as a substitute for confirming the return procedure applicable to your own voter category.
Read the official EASE overview. If its authorized return route meets your needs, a separate fax service may be unnecessary. If you choose fax, use a complete packet that your county accepts for that method.
The Secretary of State instructs military and overseas voters to mark their ballot and complete and sign the Oath of Voter before returning their materials.
Nevada's electronic-return declaration also includes the required acknowledgment about waiving ballot secrecy. Use the documents supplied for electronic return rather than assuming an ordinary postal envelope or generic fax cover contains everything needed. The requirements appear in NAC 293D.010 and 293D.020.
Before sending, check that you have:
The oath and declaration may be combined in your packet; do not invent a separate form if the official materials already contain the required statements. Ask the county if anything is missing or unclear.
Open your final files and check that marks, signatures and completed fields remain visible and no edges are cropped. Fax.Plus explains how to prevent missing information in fillable PDFs.
Find your office through the official county clerk and registrar directory. Verify the completed-ballot-return fax number against your packet or directly with the office.
A number published for FPCA applications is not automatically the number for returning a voted ballot. Use your current packet's destination rather than copying a general office fax number.
The FVAP Nevada guide gives a 7 p.m. November 3, 2026 receipt deadline for electronically returned ballots. Clark County likewise states that email and fax ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day in its military and overseas instructions.
Confirm the time zone applicable to your county's election deadline. Starting the fax before closing does not establish timely receipt. Allow time for busy lines and follow-up, and do not apply postal-mail arrival rules to a fax.
Once the permitted return method, packet and destination are confirmed, you can send through the Fax.Plus web or mobile app without a subscription.
Free includes a one-time allowance of 10 sending pages after mobile-number verification. It does not renew monthly. Your IP country must match your phone number's country code to receive the verification code. An email-verified Free account can purchase sending credit without mobile verification. See the verification requirements.
If you need credit, the minimum manual top-up is $10. No subscription is required, and unused credit does not expire. This purchase is different from the cost of your ballot fax: destination and connection duration affect usage, and connected unsuccessful attempts can consume credit. Check the pay-as-you-go terms and destination rate.
Free permits up to 30 pages and 30 MB combined per fax. Count every required page and ask the county before dividing the packet into separate transmissions.
For device-specific instructions, see how to fax online.
Use Nevada's Registered Voter Services to check your voting record. The Secretary of State directs returned-ballot checks to the Voter History tab. Contact your county if you cannot locate or interpret the record.
A fax confirmation report records the transmission result. It does not establish that election officials accepted or counted your ballot.
If the transmission fails, pages are incomplete or the county cannot locate the packet, keep your report and contact the office while time remains. Ask how to proceed before sending another copy.
When your official packet and return instructions are ready, create a Fax.Plus account or sign in to send.
Nevada law authorizes covered voters to use digital or electronic signatures on military-overseas ballots. EASE provides an official workflow using a signature already on file. Follow that workflow or your county's instructions rather than assuming any typed name or pasted image meets the requirements. See the signature provisions in NRS 293D.130.
Contact your county immediately about resending it or using EASE. Eligible voters may also use the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot as a backup. Its fax packet includes the signed Voter Information page, Official Backup Ballot and Transmission Cover Sheet with the signed secrecy waiver. Follow the Nevada-specific FWAB instructions and confirm the requirements for your situation with the county.
An FPCA combines registration and a ballot request. If you registered through another route, the Secretary of State says to contact your county clerk or registrar to request your ballot and provide your current overseas or military delivery details. Confirm what is already on file before submitting another request. See the official registration and ballot-request guidance.
