How to Fax from Google Docs with the Add-On?

Integrating Fax.Plus with your Google Workspace is a game-changer. To initiate this Google Fax integration and send faxes through Google, you will first need to install the Fax.Plus extension for Google Workspace, and register to Fax.Plus using your Google account. Here’s how to fax a Google doc within minutes:

1
Open the Google Doc you want to fax using the Google account where the add-on is installed.
2
Select Extensions, open the Fax.Plus add-on, and choose Send Fax. Follow the prompts to sign in or continue to Fax.Plus.
3
Enter the recipient’s fax number with its country and area codes. Review the document, add a cover sheet if needed, and select Send Fax.
4
Check the final transmission result in Faxes > Sent in Fax.Plus. Email notifications are available if enabled.

Check the full number

Enter the recipient’s full fax number, including country and area codes, before submitting your Google document.

Keep the final version

Finish your edits before sending. If you export a PDF, reopen the saved copy to check that it includes the changes you intend to fax.
Review your message

Choose email content

When you email your exported Google Doc, check what belongs in the message. The email body can become a cover sheet, while the subject appears as a note in Fax.Plus. Review the account’s email-content settings so an unintended email signature is not included.
Encrypted storage

Encryption for stored files

All stored files at rest, including faxed documents, are encrypted using 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). Each user benefits from unique encryption keys. Review the Google add-on’s permissions and your organization’s document-sharing rules before connecting your account.
Separate receiving feature

Receiving needs a number

Receiving faxes requires a paid plan and a fax number. Incoming faxes appear in your Fax.Plus Inbox, with email notifications if configured. The Docs add-on is a sending workflow; it does not receive faxes into a Google document.
Use internet access

Send without a phone line

You need internet access, a Fax.Plus account and the recipient’s fax number. No fax modem or telephone connection is required. Fax.Plus sends your Google document or exported file to its destination.
