Fax forwarding means sending a fax that already arrived on to a new destination, instead of printing and rescanning it.
Fax.Plus lets a user forward any fax in Inbox or Sent straight to another fax number, from the web app or mobile app.
A received fax can also forward automatically to up to five email addresses, alongside or instead of the primary recipient.
Neither method requires downloading the file first, forwarding happens directly from the fax's own menu.

What Does Fax Forwarding Mean?

Fax forwarding is sending a fax that already arrived, or already went out, on to a new destination instead of printing and rescanning it. The idea predates cloud fax entirely, some legacy fax machines and multifunction printers offered a built-in forward or relay function for exactly this reason.

Forwarding to Another Fax Number

On Fax.Plus, open the fax in the Inbox or Sent tab, select More (⋮), then Forward on the web app, or long-press it and choose Forward to Fax on iOS and Android. Enter the destination number and send, and the same file that already went out once goes out again without being re-uploaded. The forwarded copy still carries the encryption already covering that account's storage the first time around.

Forwarding to Email

A received fax can also forward automatically as a notification to up to five email addresses, configured under Settings, the Faxing tab, then Notifications. That's a separate mechanism from forwarding to a new fax number: one sends the fax itself onward through the provider handling that connection's network, the other just alerts an inbox that a fax arrived.

A Common Case: One Inbox, Several Reps

A large consumer services company in Missouri routes faxed service requests to one shared account number, then forwards each one to the specific rep's email as it arrives, so nobody has to keep checking the fax inbox app throughout the day. A fax that lands on the wrong desk can also be forwarded straight to another fax number in a couple of clicks, no printing or rescanning required.
